Why Volunteer?

Because YOU can make a difference!

As a Girl Scout volunteer you have a meaningful opportunity to shape the lives of girls-yet volunteers tell us that they gain as much as they give. Here are some of the benefits they name:

  • Pride in accomplishment
  • Creative outlet
  • Investing in community
  • Personal growth and development
  • Sharing experience and skills
  • Involving family and friends
  • Recreation
  • Putting beliefs into action

The benefits of volunteering for the Girl Scouts are abundant and rewarding. You can make a difference in the life of one or many young girls by offering your time and knowledge to their troop.

Made To Fit Your Schedule

We know adults are busy, so we offer flexible options to anyone interested in helping girls grow strong. We need women to serve as mentors. We need women-and men-who can drive or chaperone girls to and from troop meetings, workshops or special events. We need women and men who can lead a Brownie Girl Scout troop or a group of older girls on a nature excursion or tour. We need volunteers who can manage other adults, run an annual giving campaign, organize an event, or work with the Alumnae Association .

Make A Difference

Whether it's once a week, once a month, or once a year, we need you to help us make a positive impact in the lives of girls through Girl Scouting.

Training Is Free

Volunteer training , provided at no cost to volunteers, will give you the Girl Scout foundation you need. We offer extensive training to ensure that you feel ready to take on the responsibility of leading a troop and we are also here for assistance at any point. You are not going into this alone! Training includes an orientation to Girl Scouts and training for work with a particular age level. "Safety-wise" is also taught to ensure that you are aware of the guidelines necessary to keep the girls safe. Additional courses are offered for interests, ranging from event planning to outdoor camping. There is also a network of Girl Scout volunteers and staff members to provide support and advice.
