To meet the needs of our members and ensure that Girl Scouting is available to every girl everywhere, Pelican Council is supported through a variety of resources:

United Way of Northwest Louisiana

Girl Scouts Pelican Council, Inc. is proud to be a United Way of Northwest Louisiana agency partner. United Way of Northwest Louisiana provides critical support for the development of girls in the 9-parish area. Working together, we build community partnerships and provide hope for thousands of Northwest Louisiana citizens. Your contribution to your local United Way helps support Girl Scouts Pelican Council, Inc. and the members we serve.

Family Partnership Campaign

The Family Partnership Campaign allows all Girl Scout families an opportunity to join together to financially support Girl Scouting. Family Contributions allow Pelican Council to provide quality leader training, learning opportunities for girls, council-wide events and repairs to our camping facilities.

The Family Partnership Campaign helps ensure that Girl Scouts Pelican Council, Inc. will be able to provide quality programs for girls in Northwest Louisiana. Leaders make Girl Scouting possible by contributing endless hours of their time to deliver great programs for girls. But leaders also play a vital role in the dissemination of information to parents. Contributions from girls' families and friends are essential to support council activities. Please participate in the campaign and help us as we strive to help each every girl everywhere. Your contribution does not need to be large to be appreciated. Give only as much as you can, just to show you care. It will make a difference.

Community Partners

Building today's girls into tomorrow's leaders takes strong partnerships, not only with girls and volunteers, but also with the individuals, corporations, foundations and other organizations that support Girl Scouts Pelican Council, Inc. through funding our programs. We value our partners and the role they play in helping our council to make Girl Scouting available to every girl, everywhere.

Matching Gifts / Grants

Many corporations and employers have established matching gift programs that match the time and money you contribute to Pelican Council. Contact your personnel department to determine if they have a program and simply request a matching gift application and forward the completed form to Pelican Council.

Planned Giving

Help prepare girls for the future by naming Girl Scouts Pelican Council, Inc. in your will. Planned gifts include charitable trusts, life insurance policies, provisions in wills and endowment gifts.

In Kind – Wish List

Besides financial support, there are other ways that you can help. For example, you could donate professional services; supplies; airline mileage; meeting space; computers; professional workshop facilitators; renovations at Camp Wawbansee; sports equipment; cooking equipment; camp maintenance volunteers; tractors for Camp Wawbansee; janitorial supplies; TV/VCR, etc. You could also choose to underwrite the cost of council publications and printing; special events; programs; day camps; volunteer recognitions; training; etc. Or you could donate something even more important – your time! As Girl Scouts Pelican Council, Inc. expands to reach more girl and adult members, it is natural that our financial needs increase.
