Volunteer Opportunities - other than being a Troop Leader

Volunteer experience – field & program
- Organize tour for girls at corporate or career-related site
- Chaperone girls on field or camping trips
- Serve as mentor in Teen Mom Program
- Share my expertise/teach a skill to girls
- Organize a Campus Girl Scout service group at a local university or college
Volunteer experience – professional development
- Help develop/lend resources to a marketing campaign to recruit girls and adults
- Help enhance/lend resources to the GSPC web site and/or create newsletter & various publications
- Conduct workshop for adults in my area of expertise (e.g., financial planning)
- Photograph/videotape Girl Scout programs/activities
- Develop curriculum for girl program in my area of expertise
Donations: In-kind & professional services
- Help secure donations of goods (e.g., laptop computers) or services (e.g., catering)
- Host meetings/retreats at my company, country club, home, etc.
- Secure other professionals to provide services (e.g., trainers, facilitators)
- Donate graphic design skills and/or printing services
- Update demographic information on Girl Scout service areas
Fundraising
- Host a prospective donor cultivation event at home and/or office
- Identify prospective individual and/or corporate donors
- Accompany the CEO and/or President on cultivation/solicitation calls
- Accompany the CEO and/or President on corporate/foundation site visits
- Invite friends and/or colleagues to special events
Building the brand
- Act as my company's “central contact” to recruit volunteers, identify GS alumnae, identify sponsorship opportunities, host a cultivation event, etc.
- Help establish collaborations that build programs and/or bring in volunteers or resources
- Identify and help recruit young adults (18-25) to work with girls
- Tell Girl Scout story at events and meetings (e.g., service clubs, churches)
- Identify adult GS alumnae from business & professional organizations
